CDSL Q1 Earnings: Net Profit Up by 15%, Number of Demat Accounts Surpasses 18 Crore

Consolidated profit for CDSL for June quarter was ₹118 crore. In the same period last year, it was ₹102 crore. In comparison to previous quarter, its consolidated profit increased by 47 percent; in March quarter, it was ₹80 crore.

The CDSL share price dropped by 0.34 percent and closed at ₹1,331 on July 31.

Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) has reported their quarterly results. In the June quarter, the profit of CDSL increased by 15% year-over-year due to the growth in revenue and a consistent rise in investor accounts.

Consolidated Profit of Rs. 118 Crores in June Quarter

The consolidated profit of CDSL came in at ₹118 crore during Q1 of this fiscal year. For the same quarter last year, the figure was ₹102 crore. As far as the previous quarter is concerned, the figure was ₹80 crore.

Total income increased by 15% to ₹341 crore.

Consolidated net profit for the June quarter went up by 15 percent on a year-on-year basis to ₹341 crore. It was ₹295 crore in the same quarter last year. From the perspective of the March quarter, the consolidated net profit grew by 27 percent; the consolidated net profit in the March quarter was ₹268 crore.

Assets under Custody exceed ₹88 lakh crores.

According to CDSL, the company’s AUC as on June 30, 2026, is ₹88.2 lakh crore. The company’s total income in the June quarter, on a standalone basis, is ₹327 crore, which is ₹215 crore last year in the corresponding quarter and also ₹215 crore in March quarter of this year. However, the net profit of the company has dropped by 5 percent on a standalone basis to ₹144 crore.

India’s first depository with more than 18 crore Demat accounts.

It has emerged as the first depository of the nation to cross the threshold of 18.59 lakh crore through its demat accounts, whereas a year back it was merely 15.86 crore. The total number of demat accounts of the company grew up to 58 lakh in the June quarter. It made an acquisition of 2% share in Sahamati Foundation at the cost of ₹1 crore.

The company’s stocks have dropped by about 10 percent this year.

CDSL shares closed at ₹1,331 on July 31, declining by 0.34 percent. During the last one year, the share price has declined by about 10 percent. Effect of Q1 performance of the company on its shares would be visible once the stock market opens on August 3. The total number of demat accounts held is quite low compared to the total population of the country; hence the potential of growth for the company in the coming years.
